• John Kline Launches His Kline for Congress 2014 Campaign

Minnesota Congressman John Kline officially launched his 2014 campaign for Congress in front of a packed room of supporters tonight in Apple Valley.

“There is an enormous breach of trust between the White House and Congressional Democrats and most Americans,” Kline said. “When the federal government abuses its power and wastes your hard-earned taxpayer dollars, liberty is eroded, the economy is slowed, and the rule of law is diminished. Whether it’s the Benghazi scandal, the chilling revelation the IRS was targeting conservative groups, the broken promises of ObamaCare, or the mistreatment we are learning about at the VA – Americans rightly are demanding answers.”

Kline encouraged supporters to join him on the campaign trail by volunteering to march in parades, make phone calls, man fair booths, prepare mailings, and lend a helping hand to accomplish the campaign tasks of the day.

“I look forward to campaigning alongside you to spread our positive message of fighting for a more effective and efficient government,” Kline said. “Americans deserve a government that is committed to taking every possible step to spur job creation and get our economy back on track so families can flourish and Americans can do what they do best: create, invent, and lead.”

  • John Kline Wins Republican ‘Top Gun’ at Annual Congressional Shoot-out

Minnesota Congressman John Kline earned the Republican “Top Gun” honors this afternoon at the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation’s annual shoot-out. Every year, members of Congress who attend the shoot-out spend an afternoon in a friendly competition shooting trap, skeet, and sporting clays.

“The shoot-out is a great event that creates camaraderie between members on both sides of the aisle that fosters effective bipartisan collaboration on issues of importance to the sporting community,” said Kline, an avid hunter and fly-fisherman. “I am pleased to work with other members of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus to promote conservation efforts and preserve our critical habitat.”

Kline, a life member of the National Rifle Association with an A-rating from the NRA, has won the Republican “Top Gun” award five times. Democrat Collin Peterson, Kline’s colleague in the Minnesota Congressional delegation, won overall “Top Gun” status.

The bipartisan Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus (CSC) has grown into one of the largest and most effective caucuses in the US Congress with nearly 300 members of the House and Senate representing almost all 50 states. The CSC, with direct support from CSF, has maintained its effectiveness in championing the sportsmen’s agenda in Congress even through shifts in political power. While the threats to sportsmen’s interests are ever present, the CSC remains an identified group of allies continuously working as pro-sportsmen elected officials to protect and advance the agenda and interests of America’s sportsmen and women.

Political handicapper Stu Rothenberg today moved Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District race to “Safe Republican” status taking John Kline “off the radar” of congressional seats considered in play.

John Kline, R-Minn., was re-elected in 2012 with less than 55 percent in a district that Barack Obama won twice, making him an initial Democratic target,” Rothenberg reported. “But it’s safe to say that the race in Minnesota’s 2nd District hasn’t developed as quickly as some Democratic strategists would have liked.”
